Curb stone is a boundary stone commonly used for the edge of the pavement, also known as dental stone or curb. It is the boundary between carriageway, sidewalk, green space, isolation belt and other parts of the road on the pavement, which plays a role in ensuring the traffic safety of pedestrians and vehicles and ensuring the tidiness of the edge of the pavement.
Kerb construction requirements
a. The roadside stone must be constructed by hanging through the line. It shall be tightened according to the elevation mark line on the top surface of the side plane. The side flat stone shall be built according to the line. The side flat stone shall be upright, and it shall not be turned from front to back. The side top line shall be straight, smooth and smooth, without high and low staggered teeth, and there shall be no up and down staggered platform and internal and external staggered teeth on the plane.
b. The curbstone must be built with mortar, and the mortar must be dense. It is strictly prohibited to plug the joint for masonry;
c. The dislocation at the joint of kerb shall not exceed 1mm; The side stone and flat stone must be evenly staggered in the middle.
d. The size and finish of the kerb and side flat stone shall meet the design requirements. The appearance is beautiful. The side stones of the bend shall be specially processed according to the design radius, and the line shape shall be smooth, round and tight during masonry. The arc sidestone must be polished after manual fine chiseling.
e. The back of kerb shall also be tamped with soil, with tamping width not less than 50mm and thickness not less than 15mm.
f. Kerb pointing: when pointing, the line must be hung again, the sundries in the side stone joint must be removed, wetted with water, and then filled with 1:2.5 cement mortar.
g. The curbstone shall be watered properly for maintenance after pointing and laying.
